The i-LEAP K2 English Programme is designed to help children develop larger vocabularies, become better readers and users of the English language, to ensure that they are will prepared to continue with the Primary English lessons. This includes development of skills such as:
- constructing and writing sentences
- communicating in the English language effectively
- internalising the conventions of print, letters and letter sounds, vocabulary and comprehension of reading texts
- understanding the dynamics of the English language and able to apply the basic forms and functions when using the language.
Similar to the K1 programme, the i-LEAP K2 English Programme also offer play-based activities lessons and activities that applies the 5E Methods of Instructions approach. However, more formal instructions and tasks are incorporated to ensure children's readiness as they progress to primary school English. Additional resources below are provided to facilitate teachers in creating engaging and effective lessons online and offline.
