In addition to introducing children to a more advanced and complex scientific knowledge and concepts, the i-LEAP K2 Science Programme is also designed to help children build a strong foundation in Science to ensure their readiness to progress towards the primary education system. Therefore, the lessons in general are crafted to:
- capitalise on children’s natural curiosity
- encourage children to question and be responsive to questions
- provide opportunities for open-ended inquiries
The combination of play-based approach and the 5E Model of Instructions in all the lessons and activities found in i-LEAP K2 Science creates a learning environment that promotes inquiry learning that:- engages children in meaningful hands-on experiences
- utilises both indoor and outdoor settings
- ensures coherence experiences is included other than isolated experiences
- facilitates the development of science process skills
The i-LEAP K2 Science Programme also provides additional resources to facilitate teachers in making their teaching and learning activities more engaging and effective.
