The i-LEAP K1 English Programme aims to help children progress from recognizing letters of the alphabet to expanding their vocabulary by using themes that they are very much familiar with. The lessons are structured such that children will learn new words through various activities that encourage them to use the vocabulary they have learnt correctly and repetitively. In this manner, children will not only master the vocabulary they have just learnt but they begin to enhance their usage of English for communication.
Among the approaches applied in the i-LEAP K1 English Programme include activities that:
- expand children's vocabulary
- foster children's love for reading
- expose children to various types of prints and texts
- play with sounds and songs
- use technology to increase lesson engagement.
Other than coursebooks and activity books, the i-LEAP K1 English Programme also provide teachers with resources to make the teaching and learning activities more engaging and effective.
